Senor Chang's "Gayyyyy" or Ha, Gay refers to a quote attributed to the fictional character Señor Ben Chang in the TV sitcom series Community. Due to Chang's unusual enunciation, coupled with his questionably sophomoric word choice, the scene has lent itself to many parodies and YouTubePoop remixes on sites like Tumblr and YouTube.

I think Chang being gay may be a Harry Potter reference. JK Rowling only revealed Dumbledore was gay after the last book was released and the fact Changd nothing about the story. Sometimes Chang has referred to people showing emotion as gay, so I assumed him coming out in the final was him assuming he was gay because he was being emotional, but I believe Harmon at some point confirmed Chang is actually gay, or maybe he’s not openly anything and gay doesn’t begin to cover it. While attending school he also interned with the Queer Trans Resource Center on campus working with queer students providing gender affirming care, community events, and general academic support for queer youth.
